Run a stock count

Plan, count, review, and reconcile stock without losing the audit trail.

Define the scope

Choose a site, location group, category, or cycle-count set. Keep the first count small enough to finish in one session. Pause or coordinate movements in the selected area while counting.

Count what is present

Work location by location. Scan labels, enter observed quantities, and distinguish units, lots, and serials. Record zero when the expected item is absent rather than skipping the line.

Review variances

Separate recounts from approvals. Investigate large differences using recent receipts, moves, picks, and adjustments. Add a concise reason that another person can understand later.

Reconcile

Approve the count to create controlled adjustments. Confirm that count status is complete and review the movement ledger for each resulting change.
