Migrate from PartsBox

Prepare a PartsBox JSON or table CSV export, preview the mapping, and reconcile catalog, locations, and opening stock.

Export from PartsBox

For the most complete source, open Settings → Data → Download JSON. PartsBox documents this as a single full-data JSON export. Attachments are not included and must be retained separately.

PartsBox also exports individual tables as CSV. Configure the table's export columns, clear search and filters when you need the complete table, then export the relevant Parts, Storage and Stock views. The CSV contains the rows matching the current search and filters, in the current sort order, and its export columns can differ from the on-screen columns. See the official data migration and table export documentation.

Supported representative inputs

Choose the PartsBox preset for a full JSON export or one CSV produced by a PartsBox table export. The preset accepts one file per run. Preserving items, storage locations and opening stock in that run requires the selected file to contain item identity, storage-location identity and current quantity. When those records are split across separate table exports, use the generic location, item and stock import workflows in dependency order, or use the full JSON export; do not select several table files in the PartsBox preset.

The preset targets Itemra items, location paths and opening stock. It does not migrate attachments, credentials, offers, orders, builds, BOM history or a complete historical movement ledger. Keep those records in the retained source archive when they are required for audit or reference.

Preview before commit

Confirm every required Itemra field before committing: item name, stable SKU or external identity, base unit, location and quantity. Check that location paths have not collapsed, fractional quantities use the expected unit, and source identifiers are not being mistaken for display names. Unknown or changed source columns remain visible for manual mapping; do not guess at an ambiguous column.

Reconcile and cut over

Keep PartsBox read-only during the final export. After import, compare item counts, location counts and quantity totals per item and location. Sample items with multiple storage locations, lots or unusual units, and investigate every rejected row. Run normal Itemra search, receive, move and count workflows before users switch systems.

Recovery and replay

There is no general undo for committed import rows. Preserve the original export, selected preset, mapping, rejection report and reconciliation result. Prefer the first production-sized rehearsal in a fresh tenant. If a job is interrupted after writing data, inspect its status and imported records before retrying; asynchronous imports can be processed at least once, so an unreviewed replay can duplicate opening stock.

Validation and independence

This adapter is covered by synthetic representative fixtures derived from the documented export shapes. Acceptance against a vendor-generated export from an Itemra-controlled PartsBox account is still pending; treat unfamiliar schemas as manual-mapping work until preview and reconciliation pass.
