Migrate from Sortly

Export the Sortly Inventory Summary as CSV, review folders and quantities, and reconcile the current inventory snapshot.

Export from Sortly

In Sortly, open Reports → Inventory Summary, select Export, then choose CSV. Sortly documents Inventory Summary as the structured full-inventory export: it includes item details, custom fields, tags, quantities, pricing, folder structure and locations. Image references are public URLs; original image files require Sortly's separate Dropbox export. See the official inventory export guide.

Clear unintended filters and confirm whether Summary Mode or individual-item view matches the migration. Inventory Summary represents current state, not inventory at an arbitrary historical date.

Supported representative input

Choose the Sortly preset and upload an Inventory Summary CSV. The source must contain item identity, folder or location and current quantity to preserve multiple entities. The representative adapter does not claim support for PDF, XLSX, Dropbox image bundles, transaction reports or arbitrary Advanced Search exports; use generic mapping for a different tabular export and validate every field.

The preset targets Itemra items, location paths and opening quantities. Public image URLs, image files, activity history, transactions, report subscriptions and Sortly-specific presentation settings are not migrated.

Preview before commit

Check the proposed SKU or external identity, name, unit, folder path and quantity mappings. Ensure repeated item names in different folders remain distinguishable, nested folders retain their full path, and custom fields are mapped only to compatible Itemra fields. Correct missing required values and all ambiguous mappings before committing.

Reconcile and cut over

Freeze Sortly changes for the final export. Compare total items, folder or location counts, and quantities per item and folder. Because Inventory Summary is a current-state report, reconcile against the report generated at the cutover time, not a later live screen. Investigate all rejected rows and test representative receive, move, count and search flows in Itemra.

Recovery and replay

Retain the CSV, export time, filters, mapping, rejection report and reconciliation result. A committed import has no general undo. Rehearse in a fresh tenant and do not retry an interrupted asynchronous import until its job and resulting stock have been inspected; at-least-once processing means a replay can duplicate opening quantities.

Validation and independence

This adapter is covered by a synthetic representative Inventory Summary fixture based on the documented export behavior. Acceptance against a CSV generated by an Itemra-controlled Sortly account is still pending. If Sortly changes headers or structure, the preview must fail visibly or require manual mapping rather than silently infer data.
