Getting started

Set up your first Itemra site, storage location, item, and stock movement.

Before you begin

You need an Itemra organization and permission to manage inventory. Decide who owns the initial item list and use a small, representative area for the first setup.

1. Create your storage structure

Create a site for the building or operational area. Add locations for the places where stock physically lives, such as a room, shelf, bin, vehicle, or container. Use short names that workers can recognize at a glance.

2. Add an item

Create an item with a clear name, SKU, base unit, and optional barcode. Add reorder settings only after you know the normal usage and lead time. Custom fields can hold business-specific details without overloading the item name.

3. Record opening stock

Receive or adjust the quantity into its real location. Include the unit and, when applicable, lot or serial details. Itemra's stock view should now match a physical check of the location.

4. Run the first daily workflow

Move one quantity between locations, scan or print a label, and complete a small count. Review the movement history to confirm that the actor, time, source, destination, and quantity are understandable.

Next steps

Invite the first operators only after the storage structure is stable. Continue with the guides for items, receiving, movements, counting, and labels.
