Getting started

From signing in to your first item, stock record, movement, and count — a complete first-hour walkthrough.

Sign in and create your organization

Go to app.itemra.io and sign in. Itemra uses a hosted sign-in page that supports email/password and single sign-on.

The first time you sign in without an organization, Itemra takes you to the organization-creation page. Pick a name and a vertical preset — General storage, Electronics, or Automotive. The preset seeds sensible defaults (Electronics adds a category and 18 electronics-specific custom fields); everything it creates can be changed later, and changing vertical later adds missing defaults without touching your data. Every new organization starts with a trial, a default currency, and a first site called MAIN.

Find your way around

The console has a dark sidebar with four groups — Operate, Flows, Partners, and Admin — and a topbar with the organization and site switchers, global search (Ctrl/⌘ K), language, theme, notifications, and your user menu. The console tour covers every control; the short version: everything you can see is also reachable from the command palette, and ? shows all keyboard shortcuts.

Create your first item

Open Items → New item (or press the + New item button on the dashboard). Give the item a clear name, a stable SKU, and the unit the stock is controlled in — pieces, metres, kilograms. A barcode, category, purchase details, and custom fields are optional now and easy to add later.

Don't encode locations or suppliers into item names — both change, and Itemra tracks them separately.

Record opening stock

Open your new item and switch to the Stock tab, then use Add stock to receive the real quantity into the location where it physically lives. The on-hand, reserved, and available figures update immediately.

Try the daily loop

Before inviting anyone, run one lap of the daily workflow yourself:

1. Move a quantity between two locations (Stock tab → Move, or the guided mobile move).
2. Print or scan a label (Flows → Print labels, or press S anywhere to open the scanner).
3. Count the location (Flows → Counting → New count) and approve the result.

Then open Movements and confirm the ledger tells the story you expect: who did what, when, from where, to where. That ledger is the backbone of everything else in Itemra.

Explore safely with sample data

If you'd rather explore with realistic data first, install the demo dataset — a coherent warehouse scenario you can remove again cleanly.

Invite the team

When the storage structure feels stable, invite your first operators from Users (Admin group). Assign the least-privileged role that supports each person's work — roles and per-site scoping are covered in the administration guides. New members land on the same dashboard checklist you just completed.
