Moving stock

Quick moves from the stock tab, the guided mobile move, and how to verify a move in the ledger.

Quick move

The fastest desktop move is the Move action on any stock row (item Stock tab or a location's contents): the drawer shows the source, you pick the destination — a location or a container, each from a dropdown — and the quantity, and lots and serials stay attached to the stock as it moves.

The guided mobile move

On the floor, use the guided move (G M, floor mode, or Movements → Mobile): scan the source location or container, scan the item, enter the quantity, scan the destination. Each scan echoes the resolved name — if the screen says a different bin than the label in front of you, stop; that's the system catching a mislabel before it becomes a discrepancy.

If the connection drops after the source, item and destination are loaded, you can confirm the move offline. Saved offline means the move is stored on this device and awaits synchronization. Reconnect with Itemra open, then check Offline actions in floor mode and verify the move in the ledger. See offline behavior for pending actions and conflicts.

Rules that keep the ledger honest

• A move is not an adjustment. Adjustments change totals; moves change places. Using one for the other destroys the source-to-destination story.
• Don't combine unlike units in one move; convert deliberately.
• Scan, don't remember. The destination scan is the cheap insurance.
• Between sites, use a transfer so stock in motion is visible instead of teleporting.

Verify in the ledger

Every move writes a move movement. To confirm one, open Movements and filter to the item — the row shows operator, time, source, destination, and quantity, and both locations' balances change together.

Mis-moved something? Open the movement and Reverse it — the compensating entry keeps the history intact.
