Schedules per unit, recording results, quarantine on failure, reminders, and the audit trail for regulated equipment.

Schedules

Each serialized unit can carry schedules of three kinds — calibration, maintenance, inspection — with a cadence (every N days/weeks/months/years) anchored to the last completed date. The unit's page shows what's due next; upcoming maintenance collects everything due across the fleet, and the calibration due report is the periodic sweep.

Record results

Completing work records a result — Pass, Adjusted, or Fail — with the date, notes, and a certificate reference where one exists. Pass and Adjusted roll the schedule forward to the next due date.

Fail quarantines the unit: it drops out of normal circulation until the follow-up resolves it. That single behavior is what keeps a failed tester from quietly going back into service.

Reminders and alerts

Assignment reminders nudge current holders, and the tool alert kinds — calibration due, calibration overdue, checkout overdue — notify the people responsible before an auditor or a bad measurement does.

The regulated-equipment answer

Records are append-only per unit: schedules, results, certificates, and every checkout in one history. When the question is "prove this instrument was calibrated and who had it in March," the unit page — or the asset inventory export — is the answer.
